OrlandoiX 2017 is fast approaching, and we have another impressive round of speakers to announce for this year’s conference. These three individuals share a significant amount of involvement in AR/VR, feature films and venture capital (and that’s a bit of an understatement), and we can’t wait to have them!
Cordy Rierson is the director of Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Experiences. She leads teams that are working on the HoloLens, 3D for Everyone, and she is currently part of the team leading the production of Microsoft Windows Experiences. Her 20+ years of experience started in the film industry, where she worked on blockbuster films such as “Independence Day” and “Mission: Impossible”. Cordy then became more heavily involved in the gaming and MR industry. Before working with Microsoft, she spent 8 years as a game development director for Foundation 9 Entertainment, which was a collection of several game development studios based in California. She is a graduate of both Full Sail University and the University of Central Florida, and was inducted into Full Sail’s Hall of Fame in 2009.
Ryan is a co-founder and general partner of Outpost Capital, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, and the first of it’s kind to invest primarily in the AR/VR industry. Outpost investments include; UploadVR, Visby, and The WaveVR. With a master’s degree from NYU and a successful investment banking career under his belt, Ryan decided to shift his focus to providing venture capital for emerging technology startups. On top of AR/VR in Silicon Valley, Ryan is also involved in the Chinese tech industry, and focuses on AI and drone technology, as well.
Brian is an Emmy award-winning director and producer and is currently the chief creative officer for Los Angeles-based MANDT VR. He leads a team that creates immersive VR experiences and films for several large media corporations and sports organizations, including the College Football Playoff, Disney, Forbes, YouTube and Intel. His film career started at the University of Miami, where he produced the school’s first HD feature-length film, and he has gone on to present his own documentary at the Cannes Film Festival. He currently is working on several films, including “Dog Years” starring Burt Reynolds and Chevy Chase, which will be featured at the Tribeca Film Festival this year. Brian has also worked with major television networks, and even directed the Disney Channel’s first live, 360-degree hosted program.
