If you attended OrlandoiX last year, you may remember our Facebook live series, Digital Buzz, giving you all the OrlandoiX and tech industry updates on a weekly schedule. As the 2017 event approaches, we’re bringing back Digital Buzz to tell you everything you need to know about OrlandoiX 2017 and the digital media/tech industry.
In case you missed it, our topics today were:
August is just around the corner, and so is OrlandoiX. Ticket prices are still discounted, but they won’t be forever, so don’t delay! We’re also still accepting exhibits from students, indie, and corporate developers. Remember, students register for free and indie booth space gets a special rate (to qualify for an indie booth, you must have less than 8 employees and make less than $200,000 annual revenue).
T-Shirt Design Contest
Our t-shirt design contest is coming to a close. The voting ends tonight, at 11:59pm EST. Make sure you get that final vote in there to decide the look of #OrlandoiX17
Our keynote speaker line-up has grown in the past few days, adding three more great people to the list. We talked about who we’re most excited for in our line-up and what their work does for the tech industry. Which keynote speaker are you most excited for?
Oculus price cut and title teaser, Disney accelerator initiative, and Gumi’s $4.5 million investment into InXile
Digital Buzz wouldn’t be Digital Buzz without the latest in VR/AR and technology news. Most recently, Oculus headsets and touch controller bundles have gotten a major price cut; only $399. This also coincides with word of Oculus’s fully-funded VR title. Though no specific details have been released yet.
Disney’s accelerator initiative was just announced and they’re investing in 11 up-and-coming tech companies, including The Void VR and aXiomatic, the e-sports company.
Also announced today, InXile received a whopping $4.5 million investment from Gumi and open-world RPG for VR., which is a daunting, but exciting concept.
